Description

This Braised Honey Garlic Chicken is the ultimate combination of sweet, savory, and sticky. Tender, bone-in chicken thighs are pan-seared for a crispy skin, then slow-braised in a rich, flavorful sauce made from honey, soy sauce, and an abundance of ...

Instructions

1

Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.

2

Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Place chicken skin-side down and sear 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and sear 3–4 minutes on the other side. Remove chicken and set aside.

3

Drain all but 1 tablespoon of fat from the pot. Add smashed garlic and cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.

4

Pour in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and water. Add grated ginger and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer, stirring to combine.

5

Return chicken to pot, skin-side up, with sauce halfway up the chicken. Reduce heat to low, cover, and braise for 30 minutes.

6

Uncover the pot. If a thicker sauce is desired, remove chicken, increase heat to medium, and reduce sauce for 5–7 minutes. Return chicken, coat with sauce, and serve garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
